Jer. 52:1-4, 12-15
“1 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. 2 And he did that which was evil in the eyes of Yahweh (the Lord), according to all that Jehoiakim had done. 3 For through the anger of Yahweh (the Lord) it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon. 4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about. … 12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem, 13 And burned the house of Yahweh (the Lord), and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire: 14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about. 15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.”

Introduction
The purpose for the discussion of the Herodian Temple prophecy in Matthew 24th by the Messiah is to understand, compare, and correlate it with the prophecy given to the Apostle John in the book of Revelation 17th chapter about the destruction of the city that sits on seven hills (Rev. 17:18), Rome.  


This will also help one understand the current Russia-Ukraine War unfolding and Russia leading up to the  destruction of Rome (Rev. 17:16-18)


In addition, there will be seven plagues poured out on Mystery Babylon the Great, as the seven last plagues were poured out on Egypt by Moses ending Israel’s sojourn there. It is this event, also known as a beast burning a whore, that will end the Present Kingdom Age of Grace by Faith.


The Messiah prophesied the destruction of the Herodian Temple to His disciples, as He departed from the Herodian Temple and later as He sat on Mt. Olives. His disciples came to Him privately and asked when these things should be.  He didn’t give His disciples a specific time or date of these occurrences, but he gave them a series of events to look for such as wars, rumors of wars, plagues, earthquakes in divers places, etc. He also told them to let no man to deceive them.


“And Yahshua went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. 3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” (Mt. 24:1-3)”


The Messiah gave more detail beside the destruction of temple.


He spoke of Jerusalem and the surrounding area as follows. “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. 21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. 22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. 24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled (Lk. 21:21-24).

What the Messiah told them wasn't new because it had been repeated over and over, down through the ages and dispensations. This was Yahweh Elohim's purpose being repeated, declaring the end from the beginning (Isa.46:9-10)


Now the Messiah’s prophecy was the Herodian Temple and Jerusalem would be destroyed. This wasn’t the first time a prophecy like this had been made. Other prophets, such as Jeremiah, Isaiah, etc., prophesied of Israel’s wickedness causing the destruction of their cities. Noah in the  Ante Diluvian Age also saw the world destroyed for the same reasons or principles that Israel violated under the law of Moses.


Yahweh gave Noah the Sign of the End of the Ante Diluvian Age. 


“5 And Elohim (God) saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented Yahweh (the Lord) that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart….11 The earth also was corrupt before Elohim (God), and the earth was filled with violence. 12 And Elohim (God) looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” (Gen 6:5-6, 11-12)


Now in the formation of Israel Abraham was told that Israel would overthrown the tribes inhabiting Canaan Land.


Genesis 15, God confirms His unconditional covenant with Abram. God promises Abram a multitude of descendants who will inherit the land in which Abram sojourns. God then gives Abram a brief timeline of future events: “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there” (Genesis 15:13). And then, “In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure” (verse 16).


So it was the sins of the Amorites and six others tribes that inhabited Canaan Land that committed all types of wickedness such as worshiping pagan gods. They didn’t realize that Canaan land was a type of heaven so the gentile tribes had to be cast out just like Lucifer in heaven had to be cast out (Rev. 12th Chapter). Israel led by Joshua son of nun conquered these pagan nations and received their inheritance.

In the Prophets, Jeremiah wrote about the destruction of Jerusalem and Solomon’s Temple in the 52nd Chapter of Jeremiah.


“12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem, 13 And burned the house of Yahweh (the Lord), and the king's house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire: 14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.” Jer. 52:12-14


King Nebuchadrezzar also took the vessels of Solomon Temple back to Babylon (Jer. 52:17-23) and he took Israel captive for 70 years for their disobedience.


Now this event, The Herodian temple being destroyed as the Messiah prophesied in Matthew 24 chapter, was fulfilled by Titus, who later became Emperor of the Roman Empire. Titus destroyed the Temple in AD 70. 


The eye witness account of the destruction of Herodian Temple and Jerusalem was written by an Israelite Josephus. He was one of the leaders in this insurrection against Rome, but later joined the Romans to persuade Israel to surrender. He took detailed notes of the destruction. Now in the fulfillment, the Messiah, who knows all things, knew at the end of the age, by His pattern that the universe must reflect chaos and destruction. So at the end of the Post Diluvian Age, Israel as a nation, the Herodian Temple and Jerusalem would be destroyed by Romans. Daniel saw the fourth beast in his vision in the seventh chapter. It was this fourth beast, the Roman Empire, by Pontius Pilate, that crucified the Messiah, as stated earlier.


But first the Messiah had to be crucified and resurrected which brought an end to the Old Covenant of Moses and established a New Covenant on the Day of Pentecost. Salvation is by grace through faith not by works of the Law of Moses (Eph. 2:8-9).


Now in AD 70, 36 years after outpouring of the Holy Spirit in AD 34, Titus, who later became Emperor of Rome, destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple, which ended the existence of Israel as a nation. All this was done by Yahshua because of Israel’s disobedience, not accepting Him as the end of the Law (Rom. 10:4).  


Israel continued to offer up sacrifices to Yahweh, keep feast days, etc., which was an abomination to Yahweh. At that time, the Chief priests, elders and leaders of Israel were the Anti-Messiah of whom John spoke. “Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to Elohim, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can know the Spirit of Elohim every spirit that acknowledges Yahshua the Messiah come in the flesh belongs to Elohim, and every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus* does not belong to Elohim. This is the spirit of the antichrist that, as you heard, is to come, but in fact is already in the world. You belong to Elohim, children, and you have conquered them, for the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They belong to the world; accordingly, their teaching belongs to the world, and the world listens to them. We belong to Elohim, and anyone who knows Elohim listens to us, while anyone who does not belong to Elohim refuses to hear us. This is how we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit.”  (1 Jn 4:1-6)


So in essence, Israel continuing to offer up physical sacrifices made them a part of the anti-Messiah because they had refused to accept the Messiah as the true sacrifice.  This is the mistake that many in Christendom make, saying the Messiah instituted water baptisms (washings) and Lord Supper’s rather than fulfilling them.  None of these things made Israel perfect according to their conscience (Heb. 9:9-10).

The Russian-Ukraine War brought about an end to World Globalism with NATO and the US as world leaders, just as the Messiah brought about an end to the Old Covenant, the Law of Moses, and a division within Israel between the believers in Yahshua the Messiah and non-believers, Chief Priests, Scribes, Pharisees.  Likewise, this war is dividing the world between the Eastern nations, also knowns as the kings of the East (Revelation 16:12), and the West correlates to the Messiah’s bringing division in the Post Diluvian Age. 


What followed the New Covenant being set up and the division in Isreal was the destruction of Jerusalem and the Herodian Temple. Likewise, with the old global system being done away with and a New World Order of the East being set up due to sanctions, this will eventually lead to the destruction of Rome, which is the WW3.


Now Russia has tied their currency, Rubles, to gold which has changed the entire global system.
